Doha (Qatar), Sunday 19 October 2015 – The Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team closes the 2015 World Superbike season in style. Chaz Davies closes the final races of the season, at the Losail circuit in Qatar, in fourth and second place, confirming second position in the overall championship standings, while Ducati consolidates second place in the manufacturer’s championship. Xavi Forés, suffering from a virus, crosses the line seventh in race 1.

Race 1 – The first of the evening’s races got underway at 7pm local time in hot and dry conditions (32°C air temperature). Chaz, fourth on the grid, lined up for his 100th Superbike race start. Getting away well, he was lying third through the initial stages. A few laps into the 17-lap race he found himself part of a group together with the two Aprilias. Fifth at the mid-race point, the Welshman passed Haslam on lap 10 to move into fourth place, a position that he was able to hold to the line. Closing race 1 just behind Sykes meant that Davies headed into the season finale with a 13-point advantage over the Kawasaki rider.

Xavi, from third place on the grid, was lying seventh after the first lap. The Spaniard, getting into a good rhythm, and despite the fact that he was very weak due to an intestinal virus he contracted over the weekend, did all he could to improve his position. Davies and the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team back on the podium at Magny-Cours

Magny-Cours (France), Sunday 4 October 2015 – The penultimate round of the 2015 World Superbike Championship concluded today at the French circuit of Magny-Cours with mixed results for the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team. Chaz Davies continued the positive trend of recent rounds, riding his Panigale R into second position in race 2, after closing a complicated (wet) race 1 in sixth place. Luca Scassa crossed the line in thirteenth and ninth position.

Race 1 – The first race was delayed by 15 minutes due to oil spilt on what was already a wet track after overnight rain. The race was declared ‘wet’ and shortened to 19 laps.
From fourth position on the grid, Davies moved straight into second place behind Rea but during the subsequent laps he had to battle with various rivals, Sykes, Haslam and Guintoli included. Struggling with rear grip issues that conditioned his race, the Welshman lost some ground during the 19 laps and concluded race 1 in final sixth position. From sixth position, Scassa was lying tenth through the opening laps, fighting briefly with Baiocco and Lowes and finding himself in twelfth place at the mid-race point. Separated from the riders immediately ahead of him and also suffering due to a lack of grip, Luca crossed the line in thirteenth place.

Race 2 – Dry conditions for the second race, comprising 21 laps. Getting off the line well, Davies was straight up into second, fighting with the two Kawasakis and Haslam through the opening laps. After lap three the Aruba Ducati man took the lead, a position he was able to hold until the mid-race point. Lying second through the final stages, Chaz managed the situation well, maintaining a strong pace to ensure that he crossed the line in second place, scoring a further 20 championship points. This is Davies’ first podium result at the Magny-Cours circuit.

In the morning’s final timed practice, Chaz found a good rhythm and was able to remain close to the top of the timesheets for the session’s duration. Finding an extra tenth of a second in the closing stages, the Welshman qualified for Superpole 2 in second position thanks to a best lap completed in 1’37.938. Superpole 1: Superpole took place in wet conditions with riders having to deal with persistent rain. The Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team prepares for the penultimate SBK round at Magny-Cours

Arezzo/Borgo Panigale (Italy), Tuesday 29 September 2015 - The Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team, rider Chaz Davies and test rider Luca Scassa, substituting for Davide Giugliano, are all set for the penultimate round of the 2015 Superbike World Championship taking place this coming weekend at the French circuit of Magny-Cours.

Chaz Davies was last on track just over a week ago at the Spanish circuit of Jerez where he celebrated scoring his fifth win of the season in Race 2, having finished Race 1 in second position. The Welshman therefore continues to hold second place in the overall standings, with an advantage of 22 points over Sykes.

Davies has not had the best run of results at the Magny-Cours track in recent years, with his best SBK result thus far a fifth place finish, scored in 2013. Considering the Welshman’s recent level of performance, he and the team are confident that they will be in a position to battle for the podium come Sunday.

Luca Scassa will aim to make up for the unlucky Misano weekend. On that occasion Luca, taking part as a wildcard entry, unfortunately crashed in Friday’s timed practice, fracturing his right collarbone. Now fit once more, and having regained confidence during last week’s post-race Jerez test, Scassa hopes to be able to do well this weekend at Magny-Cours, a track at which he has won in the past, when racing in Supersport in 2011.

Testing in Spain concludes positively for the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team

Jerez de la Frontera (Spain), Monday 21 September 2015 – The Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike team has concluded an official test day at Jerez with good results.

Having concluded the race weekend only yesterday with fantastic results for its official rider Chaz Davies, the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team was back at the Jerez track today for testing, with Davies and test rider Luca Scassa riding the Panigale R bikes.

The Italian squad used the seven hours available to complete a work programme that included the testing of new Pirelli tyres with respect to those used in the races; the testing of some Antispin and Engine Brake Control strategies; the refining of software updates introduced during the recent race weekend; some front set-ups and different internal Öhlins suspension settings. The team made the most of being able to work more systematically and calmly than it can during a race weekend. Davies lapped with times in line with yesterday’s performance, completing a total of 68 laps. Unfortunately a technical problem kept Scassa in the garage for most of the morning session but in the afternoon the Italian was able to make 51 laps.

The Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team is pleased with the feedback and information received and now prepares for the penultimate round of the 2015 Superbike World Championship, scheduled to take place over the weekend of 4 October at the French circuit of Magny-Cours.

Davies and the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team score their fifth SBK win of the season!

Jerez de la Frontera (Spain), Sunday 20 September 2015 – fantastic results for Chaz Davies and the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team in the Jerez World Superbike races; having reached the podium in race 1, in second position, the Welshman put together a faultless race 2 to achieve his fifth win of the season! Michele Pirro completed two good races, crossing the line in sixth and seventh place.

Race 1 – from sixth on the grid, Davies got away very well, moving straight into third place. Chasing down the Kawasakis ahead of him, the Welshman reached and passed Rea on lap seven to take second position. In the second half of the race Chaz was able to increase his pace but unfortunately it was not enough to reach race leader Sykes, meaning that the Aruba Ducati man crossed the line in second position.
Pirro, seventh on the grid, held that position throughout the opening laps. In the first half of the race, the Italian struggled to close in on his rivals on the new tyre but, thanks to a significantly quicker pace in the second phase, he caught up to Haslam and Rea, immediately ahead of him, to cross the line in sixth position.

Race 2 – once again Chaz quickly got into a good rhythm and was lying second through the opening stages. He did well to fight off the advances of the chasing pack and, thanks to his extremely strong pace, was able to pass Sykes to move into the lead on lap eleven. Gradually increasing his lead while effectively managing the final phase of the race, the Aruba Ducati man crossed the line in first place, with an advantage of almost two seconds.

Chaz Davies, Davide Giugliano and the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team together again in 2016

Arezzo/Borgo Panigale (Italy), Thursday 17 September 2015 - The Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team confirms the agreement made with both of its current riders, Chaz Davies and Davide Giugliano, for the 2016 season.

Contract renewal for Davies and Giugliano ensures that the Italian squad and manufacturer can count on the talents of the two riders and on the continuity of the experience of the last two seasons completed by the Welshman and the Italian on board the Panigale R. 2016 therefore marks the third year that the Ducati line-up remains unchanged, and the second year for the Davies-Giugliano pairing within the Italian team.

Davies, currently second in the general standings, has obtained a series of great results this season, accumulating fourteen podium finishes, including four wins, from the twenty races run thus far. Strengthened by his fourth win achieved prior to the summer break at the Sepang Circuit in Malaysia, the British rider is feeling confident ahead of the final three rounds of the season and subsequent winter testing. Unfortunately Giugliano has had an extremely unlucky year, with two accidents at Phillip Island and Laguna Seca meaning that he has been able to compete in only 10 of the season’s 26 races.

Davide Giugliano achieved a solid fourth place finish in race 1 but unfortunately crashed at the start of race 2; the Italian is unhurt.

Race 1 – after the hot and sunny conditions seen up until today, this morning rain made an appearance but fortunately the track was totally dry for race one. Arezzo/Borgo Panigale (Italy), Tuesday 14 July 2015 - The Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team now travels to the United States for Round 9 of the 2015 Superbike World Championship, taking place this coming weekend at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in California.

It has been three weeks since the Italian team was last on track, scoring positive results at its home round of Misano. Both Davide Giugliano and Chaz Davies reached the podium, obtaining a second and third place finish respectively and confirming this season’s positive trend. Strong from the results achieved thus far, the Aruba Ducati pair are confident as they travel on to the American event.

Last season’s US round did not go according to plan for either rider. After suffering a bad highside in Race 1, Davies was deemed unfit to participate in Race 2, a frustrating outcome for the Welsh rider, having completed positive practice sessions and qualifying on the front row.

Testing concludes positively for Checa and the Ducati SBK development team at Mugello

Bologna (Italy), Thursday 2 July 2015 – Three tough but productive days for Carlos Checa who has carried out a series of tests at the Mugello track, working together with the Ducati SBK development team.

The former world champion, riding the Ducati Panigale R Superbike, worked hard over the three days, making all of the experience gained over his long career available to the Ducati Corse technicians, with the aim of giving the team information and feedback with which to continue development of the bike.

On track since Tuesday morning, the Italian squad initially focused on giving the Spanish rider the right confidence with the bike and the track. As expected, Carlos proved to be at ease riding the latest evolution of the Panigale Superbike right from his opening laps. The schedule then involved the testing of some technical updates and, taking advantage of the high temperatures, on the identification of the best set-up with which to keep the performance of the Panigale R constant in extreme conditions such as those experienced over the three days at Mugello. The stable weather conditions allowed the team to work uninterrupted, with the Spaniard completing more than 150 laps over the three days and achieving impressive lap times, in line with the best obtained on race tyres at the Tuscan track.

Davies, Giugliano score Ducati its 800th and 801st SBK podiums at Misano

Misano Adriatico (Italy), Sunday 21 June 2015 – Great results for the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team, racing in Round 8 of the Superbike World Championship at the Misano World Circuit. Second and fourth for Giugliano, third and fourth for Davies, and two eighth place finishes for Pirro at his first World Superbike event of the season.

Race 1 – race one took place in warm and sunny conditions. Giugliano, from third on the grid, was lying second through the opening laps, positioned behind Sykes. On lap three, the Roman rider set a new lap record thanks to a very impressive 1.34'855. Retaining second position until two laps from the end, a drop in tyre performance slowed him down and, reached by both Rea and Davies in the final phase, the Italian had to be satisfied with final fourth position.
Thanks to his very fast pace, Chaz, 11th on the grid, used the opening laps to cut his way through the field, moving into fourth place by lap seven. On lap sixteen he reached Rea, at which point both riders gave chase to Giugliano, battling amongst themselves before passing the Italian in the final stages. Davies therefore crossed the line in third place, followed by his teammate Giugliano, fourth. The podium achieved today by Davies is particularly significant as it brings the number of podiums scored by Ducati to an incredible total of 800.
Having started the race tenth, Pirro lost a little ground at the start but a solid pace allowed him to make up several positions, moving from fourteenth to tenth by mid-race. Continuing to push, he was also able to pass VD Mark and Guintoli in the second half, meaning that the Italian wildcard concluded this first race in eighth place.

Michele Pirro to substitute for Luca Scassa, riding the Panigale R at Misano

Misano Adriatico (Italy), Friday 19 June 2015 – The Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team announces that Michele Pirro will ride the Italian team’s third Ducati Panigale R this weekend in place of injured rider Luca Scassa.

Scassa, who was participating in this eighth round of the Superbike World Championship as a wildcard entry, was unfortunately the victim of a serious crash in today’s second timed practice at the Misano World Circuit. Unfortunately the accident has left him with a fractured right collarbone which prevents him from continuing this weekend, and so the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team has asked Michele Pirro, Ducati MotoGP test rider and current leader of the Italian CIV Superbike championship, riding the Panigale R with Team Barni Racing, to ride Scassa’s bike for tomorrow’s sessions and Sunday’s races.

Misano Adriatico (Italy), Friday 19 June 2015 – positive results for Chaz Davies and Davide Giugliano in today’s first timed practices at the Misano World Circuit, despite two crashes for the Italian rider. A more unlucky day for Luca Scassa who has fractured his collarbone in a nasty crash that took place during the second session of the day at Turn 3.

The Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team began the weekend with the opening timed practice which took place this morning in dry conditions. Davies started off well, working with his team to identify a good set-up for his Ducati Panigale. Finding good pace, he was able to record a best of 1’36.156 in the final moments to close the session second. Unfortunately a crash for Giugliano on his exit lap prevented him from continuing with the session and, as a result, he did not complete even one timed lap. The Italian rider suffered a serious blow to the right hip and gluteus but was nevertheless able to participate in the afternoon’s session. Scassa, who has not raced for more than a year, went out with the intention of using this first session to build confidence with both his Panigale and the track. Improving on his times lap after lap he concluded the session with a 1’37.243 that placed him fourteenth.

Luca Scassa to wildcard at Misano

Arezzo/Borgo Panigale (Italy), Thursday 11 June 2015 – The Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team confirms that Luca Scassa will compete as a wildcard entry at the next round of the Superbike World Championship, taking place at the Misano World Circuit over the weekend of 19-21 June.

Scassa will ride a third Ducati Panigale R for the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team, alongside official riders Davide Giugliano and Chaz Davies. In 2015 he has also started working as test rider for the Ducati Superbike development team, something that will help him at the upcoming World Superbike round.

Luca last raced in the Superbike championship at Imola last year, after which a serious injury (a fractured right femur resulting from a crash during testing at Mugello in May 2014) unfortunately prevented him from competing for the rest of the season. In recent years his racing career has seen him compete in the Superbike, Supersport and MotoGP world championships, with his best result a fifth place finish in the 2011 Supersport series. This weekend’s wildcard entry will equate to Scassa’s 58th race start in World Superbikes.

Both riders reach today’s podium at Portimao

Portimao (Portugal), Sunday 7 June 2015 – two very satisfying Superbike races for the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati Superbike Team in today at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in Portugal. Davide Giugliano crossed the line second in race 2, having closed race 1 fourth, while Chaz Davies reached the podium in race 1 (third), before concluding race 2 fourth.

Race 1 – Cloudy conditions and a track temperature of roughly 29°C for today’s first race. Starting from pole, Giugliano was lying fifth in the initial stages but, due to some grip issues, he dropped back a few places through the central phase of the race and positioning tenth when, on lap thirteen, it started to rain. Davies was in third behind Sykes and Rea, a position that remained unchanged until mid-race when the Welshman was caught up in a fight with Haslam. At this point the white flag was brought out and the intensity of the rain saw all of the riders enter pit-lane to make the change over to rain tyres. A very quick and efficient pit-stop for both of the Aruba Ducati men meant that they returned to the track third (Chaz) and fourth (Davide). Able to effectively manage the final laps, despite the difficult track conditions and strong winds, the riders were able to hold their positions to the line with Davies crossing the line third, followed by his teammate Giugliano, fourth.
